Collin County 4H Ag Mechanic team scored a Blue Ribbon and third place overall in Tractor Restoration of a 1961 Ford Powermaster at the Ft. Worth Stock Show.
More than 100 AG Mechanic teams from all over the state brought their projects to Fort Worth. Tractor restoration is one of the most difficult classes that consisted of eight tractors from 1940 to 1970.
Collin County 4H was the youngest team to compete with Emily Miller, sixth grade from Johnson Middle School; Reese Philips, a sophomore from McKinney High; Noah Zwillenberg, a junior at McKinney Nort; and Savannah Francis, a junior from McKinney Boyd.
The team worked through many mechanical and restoration challenges for 3 1/2 months. Gary Woody provided the tractor, Joe Fisher provided the mechanical expertise, and Sarah Francis was the team’s adviser.
