Waggin’ the Night Away (Saturday): Enjoy a night of music under the stars at the one-of-a-kind outdoor stage at Wales Manor Vineyard & Winery in McKinney. Admission is $10 per person and goes directly to fund the Spay & Neuter program at Collin County Animal Services. Raffle prizes, live music, wine and food will all be available. 4488 CR 408 just northeast of downtown McKinney toward New Hope. As always, no outside beverages, but you’re welcome to bring a picnic basket of goodies or buy the wood-fired pizza made fresh there at the winery! 7-10:30 p.m. Come early as tables go fast, or bring a blanket or lawn chair for lawn seating.
Share the Shade (Saturday): Join the city’s Engineering Department at the McKinney Performing Arts Center (east side of building) fromnoon to 2 p.m. Saturday and they’ll share the shade with you. This one’s for McKinney residents only as 100 free trees will be given away to McKinney residents on a first-come, first-served basis. Limit one tree per household. Valid driver’s license or ID with a McKinney address is required.
