Weekend Buzz: Road Rally, Farmers Market and More

As late summer brings about the return of school, there’s still plenty of weekend options in McKinney.

Red Hot Road Rally (Saturday): This 50+ mile motorcycle road rally benefits the Children and Community Health Center of McKinney.  Fee is $25 per person. Registration starts at 8:30 a.m. at the Wysong Campus of Medical Center of McKinney, 130 S. Central Expwy. (at Virginia). Kickstands up at10 a.m. and the ride wraps up at the Collin County Regional Airport, 1500 Industrial Blvd., where lunch and music will be provided along with raffle prizes. 214-803-1415.

Free Art & Music (Sunday): The Art Club of McKinney presents a free art and music event in the Carriage House at the Heard-Craig House (205 W. Hunt) at2 p.m. Sunday. Local painter Anne Royer will create an original painting to music performed by professional jazz pianist/composer William Foley. FREE.

Farmers Market (Saturday): Local and organic meat, dairy, honey and produce vendors offer their wares every Saturday at Chestnut Square HIstoric Village (315 S. Chestnut) just south of  downtown McKinney. Market vendors also offer sauces, canned goods, pasta, baked goods, wine and flowers!  Dixie’s Store will be open with sodas, old fashioned candy, ice cream, craft items and old fashioned toys for sale. 8 a.m.-noon.
