Weekend Buzz: Outdoor Music Flea Markets, Ghosts and Pumpkins Galore!

There is plenty on tap this weekend in McKinney. Check out your choices, courtesy of the McKinney Convention & Visitors Bureau.

Music Under the Stars (Saturday)
Enjoy a night of music, a bottle of wine (soda and water are available too), and some woodfired pizza under the stars at Wales Manor Vineyard & Winery. Texas singer-songwriters Jon Christopher Davis and Cary Pierce will rock the outdoor stage so come with a friend, that someone special or come alone, but bring a lawn chair (winery tables/chairs are limited and go fast). And do not forget- no outside beverages as these are available for purchase. Picnic baskets of snacks are encouraged, 7-10:15 p.m. Saturday (gates open at 6 p.m.); $15 per person, under 12 are free. 4488 CR 408 in northeast McKinney.

Pumpkinville (Thru Oct. 31)
Once again, McKinney’s Tucker Hill development welcomes the community and visitors to enjoy all autumn has to offer at Pumpkinville. Pick out your family’s perfect pumpkins for Halloween, play in the hay maze, go on a hay ride, decorate a pumpkin, and even bring a picnic lunch to enjoy the beautiful weather on the Pumpkinville grounds. Mondays through Saturdays, 9:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m.; Sundays, 1:30-5 p.m. FREE admission and activities. Pumpkins for sale with all proceeds benefiting McKinney Christian Academy. Legends of McKinney Ghost Walk (Saturday & Next Saturday)
This popular self-guided annual tour introduces guests to the ghost stories that abound in McKinney’s historic district. Presented by Chestnut Square Historic Village, ticket booklets provide maps of the sites and storytellers at each site share the legends! Use your ticket booklet to map out your route with stops in between for fun and food. The night of the event, ticket booklets and wrist bands are available at Chestnut Square Historic Village and the McKinney Performing Arts Center. 6-10 p.m.
