Cookout & Raffle Event (Sunday): You can support the Officer John Libby Memorial Fund and have fun with your family at the same time! On Sunday from noon to 4 p.m., the McKinney Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #107 is hosting a Cook-Out and Raffle on the lawn of the McKinney Performing Arts Center in downtown McKinney (111 N. Tennessee). Raffle tickets are $10; the two prizes include tickets to the Sept. 8Dallas Cowboys game against the New York Giants. Donations will also be accepted at the event.
Book Signing (Monday): Meet Melinda McGuire, author of Rich Fabric Anthology, for a book signing and gift basket giveaway. Her book is an anthology of short stories, historical essays, black and white photographs, and memoirs about the culture, tradition and symbolism of quilting. All profits from the sale of the book are donated to the Twilight Wish Foundation, a non-profit organization benefiting senior citizens who live below the poverty level. 217 N.
