The McKinney Convention & Visitors Bureau offer us a plethora of activities this weekend.
Crape Myrtle Trails Run (Saturday): It’s going to be a cold morning, but what better way to get warm than a run or walk with the family? Serious runners will enjoy a certified, fast, 5K course, complete with chip timing by Run On of Texas. Family runners/walkers can tackle the 1-mile course, and enjoy many new family-fun activities near the starting gate at Craig Ranch’s Cooper Fitness Center. Lots of prizes, music and smiles! McKinney ISD schools with the most participants may wind up with a coach getting to kiss a pig, too! On-site registration is Saturday at 7:30 a.m., 1-mile fun run at 8:30 a.m. and 5K at 9 a.m.
Food Pantry Oatmeal Drive (Friday): The Leadership Alumni Network, in partnership with The Sanctuary, will kick off their Second Annual Oatmeal Drive benefiting the Community Food Pantry of McKinney on Friday, Nov. 22 from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. An evening of great food by Sterling Catering and live entertainment from The Guitar Sanctuary highlight this charitable evening at The Sanctuary, the newly opened event venue located in Adriatica Village at 6633 Virginia Parkway. Attendees are asked to bring their donations of 18-ounce containers of oatmeal as part of their entry fee to enjoy this distinctive event.
