Recent droughts, low lake levels, and water restrictions have indicated how important water conservation efforts are to residents of North Texas. The Earth-Kind Environmental Stewardship program is a research-based, educational program. Earth-Kind allows residents to protect and conserve water resources, and still have a beautiful, productive lawn, landscape and garden.
Texas A&M AgriLife Extension and the Collin County Master Gardeners will provide an educational program focused on water conservation for North Texas lawns and landscapes. The program will take place on Wednesday, Sept. 18, from 8:45 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Myers Park and Event Center, 7117 County Road 166, McKinney, Texas 75071.
Program topics will include:
Water Conservation for the Future
Earth-Kind Principles and Practices
Drip Irrigation: From Spray to Drip
40 gallon Challenge
Earth-Kind Research Garden Tours
Do-it-yourself Irrigation Workshop
There is a $20 registration fee to attend the event.
