Volunteer McKinney Center gives us a look at this week’s listing of volunteer opportunities:
–The Face of McKinney. The McKinney Chamber of Commerce is seeking
a receptionist to greet visitors and members as they enter the office, answer
and direct phone calls, and give referrals. Duties also include making copies,
putting packets together, and helping with other projects as needed. If you are
friendly, helpful, and outgoing, this is a great opportunity to help promote your
community. Look for contact information on the VMC web site. Click on “Front
Desk Greeter” under New Listings.
–Client Intake Coordinator. Assistance Center of Collin County provides
information and referrals to people in need. ACCC currently needs Client Intake
Coordinators to determine the clients’ needs via a telephone interview and then,
using a computer database, guide them to the resources and agencies that can
provide support. Volunteers should have a pleasant phone voice, good oral and
written communication skills, and an empathetic and non-judgmental attitude. If
you have strong leadership skills and initiative, check out the VMC web site for
a more detailed description of the position. Look for “Client Intake Coordinator”
under Updated Listings.
–Assistant Volunteer Coordinator. MADD McKinney is seeking an assistant
to the Coordinator of Volunteers. Duties include recruiting, informing, and
retaining volunteers. The assistant will also maintain a database of volunteers and
referral information. For contact information, look for “Assistant Coordinator of
