Volunteer McKinney Center offers a couple ways to get involved in your community right now:
Spanish Translators. Children and Community Health Center of McKinney is seeking volunteers to translate between English and Spanish speakers. Translators interact with patients as well as medical and office staff. The Health Center is often the only source for medical care for patients. If you can communicate fluently in both Spanish and English, this agency can certainly use your help. Medical experience is not necessary and Spanish medical books are available for reference. Day-time translators are especially needed, but Tuesday
or Wednesday night time shifts are also available. For contact information, use Keywords “Spanish Translators” under Updated Listings on the VMC web site.
Reading Aloud. Do you love to read and discuss what you’ve read? Share that love with the Book Club residents of Stonefield Assisted Living and Memory Care Community. A little of your time will make a big difference to those who are no longer able to see well enough to read. For more information, go to the VMC web site and look for “Readers for a Book Club.”
