Take a look at this week’s volunteer opportunities proviced by Volunteer McKinney Center:
Serving the Community with Heart. Methodist McKinney Hospital feels that volunteers are so important because they are often the first contact that patients, family and visitors have with the hospital. The hospital is seeking volunteers who are team players and enjoy serving the community. Four- hour shifts are available once a week, twice a month, or once a month. Training and cross training is provided so that volunteers can rotate through all areas of the hospital. If you are friendly and would enjoy working with all types of people, contact the Director of Volunteer Services, Rory Money, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Play Time. Emily’s Place provides transitional housing for women and children who have been victims of domestic violence. A daytime conference is scheduled for August 26 and 27 for the moms. Volunteers are needed during that time to entertain the kids. Whether you can bring crafts and games or just read books and
play, your time and attention will make a difference. For additional information, go the VMC web site and click on “Provide Activities for our Kids” under New Listings.
Ready, Set, Go. The Red Hot Road Rally is set for August 27 to raise funds for Children and Community Health Center. Volunteers are needed the day of the event to help with registration, set up, cleanup, or other duties. For more information and to sign up, please go to www.cchc-vim.org and click on Red Hot Road Rally, then “Volunteers.” Your assistance will help to meet the funding needs of this free healthcare clinic.
