Rally for Healthcare. The Red Hot Road Rally is scheduled for August 27 to raise funds for Children and Community Health Center. Youth volunteers are needed for the 7 – 10:30 a.m. shift and the 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. shift. Church groups, scouts, and individuals are encouraged to help with this fundraising event to support the free medical clinic for low-income uninsured residents of northern Collin County. For additional information, go the VMC web site. Look for “Youth and Youth Groups Needed” under New Listings.
Spanish Translators. Children and Community Health Center of McKinney is seeking volunteers to coordinate communication between English and Spanish speakers. Translators interact with patients as well as medical and office staff. The Health Center is often the only source for medical care for patients. If you can communicate fluently in both Spanish and English, this agency can certainly use your help. For contact information, look for “Spanish Translators” under Updated Listings on the VMC web site.
