Volunteer McKinney Center offers several ways to help your community this week:
Greeting Visitors with a Smile. Chestnut Square Historical Village is looking forward to a busy fall season. Luncheon servers are needed to help serve those on guided tours. If you would enjoy providing a cup of hot tea during the coming cooler season, click on Volunteer Opportunities and look for “Servers for Luncheons” on the VMC web site. Chestnut Square is also seeking volunteers to answer the phone, take messages, and transfer messages to the appropriate staff members. Information about upcoming events is included in the provided training. For additional details, look for “Phone Operator” on the VMC web site.
Operation Appreciation McKinney sends care packages to deployed loved ones of North Collin County residents. If you would like to contribute to these troop care packages, call or email Volunteer McKinney Center for a list of items needed for the fall mailing. Your participation will provide hometown comfort to service members serving overseas.
Make a Difference. The annual McKinney Make a Difference Day is scheduled for Saturday, October 22. Hundreds of volunteers will gather at several locations to volunteer their time to make a difference in their community. There are still many projects listed online that need individual and group volunteers. To register
online, go to www.volunteermckinney.org, click on View Projects on the left side of home page, and select from the projects listed.
