Volunteer McKinney Center has listed the following opportunities for this week:
Help with Senior Outings. Sunrise Senior Living Center in Plano provides outings for their residents to places like Walmart, Target, etc. Although most seniors can get around on their own, volunteers are needed to help with this enjoyable activity. A short training will provide necessary information for volunteers. If you can help days, evenings, weekends, or weekdays, click on “Outing for Seniors” under Updated Listings on the VMC web site for contact information.
Sign Designers and Servers. Chestnut Square Historical Village offers many events and tours for visitors. A volunteer is needed to help design, create, and paint signage for these activities using wood, plastic, chalkboards, etc. Volunteers are also needed to help serve lunch to visitors who have toured the historic homes. If you work well with others, can listen and follow directions, and would enjoy serving the people in your community, contact Chestnut Square. Look for “Artist Designer Painter” or “Tea and Luncheon Servers” on the Volunteer Opportunities page of theVMC web site.
Welcome Hospital Visitors. Methodist McKinney Hospital feels that volunteers are so important because they are often the first contact that patients, family and visitors have with the hospital. Four-hour shifts are available once a week, twice a month, or once a month. Training and cross training is provided so that volunteers can rotate through all areas of the hospital. If you are a team player and would enjoy serving the community, use Keywords, “Methodist McKinney” on the VMC web site.
