• McKinney Oktoberfest. The annual McKinney Main Street “Oktoberfest” in Historic Downtown McKinney will be held September 28 and 29, 2012. Volunteers are needed to help welcome families and friends to this popular, family-friendly event. Guests can enjoy authentic German music, food and drink, traditional costumes, dancing, kids’ activities and much more. Volunteers can help with activity areas, trash collection,
greeting guests, and other hospitality duties. If you would like to help make this traditional event successful, you can find more information on the VMC web site. Use Keyword “Oktoberfest” on the Volunteer Opportunities page of the VMC web site.

Volunteers can help the Holiday Programs Committee determine what the seniors want/ need, purchase boxes and gift items, and deliver boxes and gifts to the seniors. Volunteers should be able to devote at least ½ day per week from mid-September to December 10, although the schedule is flexible. • Translators, Etc. Children and Community Health Center has recently expanded to 40 hours per week.
