Volunteer McKinney has a holiday-themed selection of opportunities for all of us.
• Chestnut Square’s Holiday Tour of Homes is scheduled for December 1st and 2nd. Volunteers are needed to serve as docents, runners, ticket sellers, blacksmiths, decorators, photographers, musicians, and other positions in this historic village. If you would like to share your holiday spirit with those who come to enjoy the Tour of Homes, use Keywords “Holiday Tour of Homes” on the Volunteer McKinney web site.
• Home for the Holidays. McKinney’s 32nd Annual Dickens of a Christmas will take place Thanksgiving weekend. Volunteers are needed to insure that the thousands of guests will enjoy the fun family-friendly event in downtown McKinney. Individuals and groups can assist with Santa visits, trash collection and various activities. If you are able to help November 23rd, 24th, or 25th, look for 32nd Annual Dickens . . .” on the Volunteer Opportunities page.
• Book Sale Coordinator. Friends of the Plano Public Library are seeking a volunteer to coordinate the annual Book Sale scheduled for August 1-3. The position involves working with other volunteers, managing an online database, and scheduling individuals and groups. Required skills include basic computer skills, Word, Excel, good communication skills, and the ability to work with diverse groups of people. If you would be available August 1-3 to run the event and 6 months prior to the sale to begin preparations, you can find additional
