Some fun projects are available to you this week as Volunteer McKinney offers ways to help your community.
• Dickens of a Christmas. The 32nd Annual Dickens of a Christmas in downtown McKinney will welcome thousands of guests on Thanksgiving weekend to enjoy live music, festive food, children’s activities and more. Volunteers are needed to assist with crowd control for Santa, greet visitors, help with trash collection, and assist with other activities. • Fun Run. The seventh annual Crape Myrtle Trails 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run in McKinney is scheduled for Saturday, November 17 at Craig Ranch with all types of fun activities for the whole family including the Myrtle Village Fun Alley and Petting Zoo. Volunteers are needed to help with runner check-in, t-shirt and race number distribution, and other activities. • Tour of Homes Host. Chestnut Square’s Holiday Tour of Homes is scheduled for December 1st and 2nd. Hosts and hostesses are needed to share information with visitors about each of the historic homes featured on the tour. Some homes at Chestnut Square will also be open.
