If health care interests you, then Volunteer McKinney Center offers several opportunities to get involved this week:
• New Medical Center Opportunities. Baylor Medical Center at McKinney will open soon to provide safe, quality, and compassionate health care. To achieve this, volunteers are needed to assist staff on nursing units, deliver mail and flowers, escort patients and visitors, perform general office duties, help staff concierge desks, sponsor fundraisers, participate in health fairs, provide tours, or serve on committees. Some volunteer
placements require special interests, training, or experience as a patient in specific areas such as heart surgery, cancer survivor, weight loss, retired R.N.s, and pet therapy escort. If you are interested in helping to provide comfort and assistance to patients and their families, go the VMC web site, click on Volunteer Opportunities, and use keyword, “Baylor.”
• Hospice Team Volunteers. The hospice team at American Hospice is seeking compassionate people who are willing to provide comfort and care for terminally ill patients and their loved ones. Volunteers are a vital part of this team and can brighten the patient’s day by sharing stories, lending an ear, or reaching out a hand to say, “I’m here.” If you are interested in becoming a part of the American Hospice family, use Keywords, “American Hospice” on the VMC web site.
