MISD’s District 10-4A varsity volleyball teams find the district competition fierce, and Tuesday night’s matches were proof.
Only one local team came away a winner — state-ranked McKinney Boyd. The Lady Broncos took a decisive 3-0 (25-10, 25-8, 25-6) win over South Garland High School on the road to improve their district record to 2-0 and overall record to 27-5. The Lady Broncs notched 48 kills and 42 digs on its way to the win.

McKinney Boyd will be back in action on Friday, Sept. 16 as we travel to Lakeview Centennial. Varsity will begin at 5:30 and JV and Freshmen Red will begin at 6:30. Our next home match will be Tuesday, Sept. 20 vs. North Garland.
McKinney North hosted Rockwall Heath on Tuesday. The Varsity team lost 3-0, with Rockwall Heath taking the match 25-15, 25-12, 25-18. The Lady Bulldogs were led by Sarah Carlise on the offensive side of the game and Kyndal Golden put together a pretty impressive debut in District tonight as well. Maddie Grider and Amber Haynes each shared in contributing in the defense.
North’s 9 Navy was victorious in with the following scores 29-27 and 25-20. The Junior Varsity team lost in 2 with scores of 16-25 and 20-25. 9 Orange lost in 3 sets, scores were 25-23, 26-24, 18-25.
North will travel to Wylie for a Varsity, JV and 9A match on Friday.
McKinney High lost on the road at Rockwall on Tuesday, its varsity falling 25-16, 25-15, 25-14.
