North started bracket play by defeating Wylie East with scores of 25-17, 25-8, and then defeated a talented Desoto team in two sets (25-23, 25-23.)
North, however, fell short of claiming the top prize, falling to Wylie 12-25, 14-25.
Leaders in both offense and total points for the Bulldogs for all three matches on the day were Lindsey Denne, 56 assists and four aces; Melissa Nichols, seven kills and two blocks; Kali Viles, 13 kills and one block; Madison Agan, 17 kills; Charmeca Brown, two kills; Abby Middleton, nine kills and one block; and Emily Greim with eight kills and two blocks.
Defensive leaders for the Lady Bulldogs were Darby Maclea with 18 digs and Mary Valdez with 14 digs.
North will be back in action Friday when they travel to take on South Garland.
Boyd, however, went 2-2 on the final day of the tournament, falling to Colleyville Heritage and A&M Consolidated. The Lady Broncos will be back on the court Tuesday when they host Lewisville at McKinney Boyd.
