The Lady Bulldogs pulled out the five-set upset against Wylie East on the road to win their first District 13-4A match and improve to 1-2. Scores for the match were 21-25, 25-19, 25-22, 24-26, and 15-9. The Bulldogs played tremendous defense with a total of 77 digs on the night. Lexey Wilson continued to lead the charge with 17 digs for the Lady Dawgs, while Alison Michalak added 13 of her own. Allison Camp led all hitters with 18 kills and Viona Vraniqi was second with 10. Courtney Kankel chipped in 3 aces and 2 blocks in her efforts. Megan Brehm led in assists with a personal best 39.
The Lady Bulldogs will host Lovejoy on Tuesday night at 6:30 p.m. Lovejoy is 3-0 in District 13-4A.
McKinney High defeated Carrollton Ranchview 3-0 on Friday night, steamrolling its opponent in straight sets. MHS opens District 10-5A competition next Friday night, Sept. 21, at Plano High. No details of Friday’s match were submitted to TSB.
