All three MISD volleyball teams won at least once Friday as early season tournament play continued across the area.
In day two of the Frisco tournament, McKinney High placed second in their pool. The Lionettes beat Mesquite in game one 25-11, 25-10. In game two, McKinney defeated Mesquite Poteet 25-17, 25-17. In the third game of the day, the Lionettes dropped a hard fought three game set to Berkner 25-20, 18-25, 17-25. This puts McKinney in the bronze bracket at Frisco Centennial. The Lionettes take the court at 9 a.m. Saturday.
McKinney North participated in the 2nd day of the Frisco ISD tournament, winning one of three matches. North lost to Desoto, 19-25, 20-25; North defeated Frisco Lone star, 25-22, 15-25, 25-19; and North lost to MAC, 15-25, 22-25. The Bulldogs will begin bracket play in the bronze division on Saturday at Centennial HS at 9 a.m.
The Lady Broncos won two out of three games Friday at the Pearland Tournament in the second round of action. Boyd best Foster, 30-29, 25-21; Boyd beat New Braunfels, 25-22, 25-14; and College Park beat Boyd, 25-18, 18-25, 25-20. The Lady Broncs open Saturday’s play at 9 a.m. against Kingwood.
