Volleyball Scoreboard: MHS, North Fall; Boyd Beats Plano West

McKinney North was unable to defeat Wylie Friday night, falling in three sets (17-25, 20-25, 17-25) at Wylie.

Senior Courtney Kankel continues to lead the offense for the Bulldogs, recording 12 of the team’s 34, kills on the night. Kali Viles was the next kill leader for the team with 10 and Melissa Nichols continued to get key side out plays for the Bulldogs and hit .364 tonight. Lindsey Denne connected with hitters for 30 assists in the match.

Serving tonight for the Bulldogs was not as effective as it has been in the past. While the Bulldogs were able to score some points off the serve, junior Kristi Carter registered the only ace for the team. Darby Maclea scrambled down 12 of the team’s 32 digs Friday. Ali Michalak chipped in seven digs and Mary Valdez also had a respectable four digs in the team’s defensive effort against the Pirates.

The Bulldogs will travel to Sherman on Tuesday as they begin to close out their final regular season matches.

McKinney High defeated by Plano East in five sets (22-25, 24-26, 25-18, 25-16, 15-10) at McKinney High School.

McKinney Boyd defeated Plano West in four sets (21-25, 27-25, 25-12, 25-20) Friday to move to 29-8 on the season. Baylee Bingamin totaled nine blocks, while Ashleigh Martin and Lauren Petrisin had 15 and 13 kills. Mantana Watts collected 32 digs, and Parker Shepherd  had 27 assists.

Boyd takes on Allen Tuesday night at Boyd at 7 p.m.
