McKinney High and McKinney North got started in the Frisco ISD Volleyball Tournament on Thursday, while McKinney Boyd traveled to Pearland to begin competition there.
McKinney High went 1-2 Thursday in pool play at the Frisco Tournament. The Lionettes beat Sherman 25-14, 25-12; they lost to Frisco 17-25, 21-25; and they lost to Denton, 18-25, 23-25. McKinney plays again Friday at 3, 5, and 7:00 at Liberty High School.
The Lady Bulldogs started pool play Thursday in Frisco, winning one of its three matches by knocking off Dallas Wilson and falling to Fossil Ridge and Frisco Wakeland. Fossil Ridge beat North 2-0, winning 25-18, 25-23; Wakeland beat North 2-0, winning 25-12, 25-16; and North beat Wilson 2-1, winning 17-25, 25-19, 25-19.
The Lady Broncos, ranked No. 8 in Class 5A in the state of Texas, went 3-0 in pool play Thursday in Pearland. They beat Montgomery 25-18, 25-13; Lutheran South 25-14, 25-14; and Klein Collins 25-23, 29-27. Boyd plays again at 3 p.m. Friday.
