As part of the ongoing TxDOT project to widen U.S. 75 from the Sam Rayburn Tollway (SRT) to White Avenue inMcKinney, TxDOT will close one lane of the U.S. 75 northbound main lanes at the Wilson Creek Bridge tomorrow, April 15, approximately from 1 a.m. until 1 p.m. Drivers should expect delays and seek alternate routes. Other closures this week include:
Park View Avenue to be Closed Overnight
Weather permitting, TxDOT will close Park View Avenue underneath U.S. 75 starting tonight at midnight to pour the new northbound main lane concrete bridge deck. Park View Avenue will re-open tomorrow morning, April 15. The driveway under U.S. 75 leading to the Community Center will also be closed tomorrow morning. To access the Community Center tomorrow morning, please use the driveway along the northbound frontage road. For questions, please call the Community Center at 972-547-2690.
Virginia Parkway Under U.S. 75 to be Closed Nightly This Week
Weather permitting, TxDOT will close Virginia Parkway directly underneath U.S. 75 Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday night this week to install bridge beams. Each night, Virginia Parkway will close at 8 p.m. and re-open by 5 a.m. the next day. During tonight’s closure , drivers can cross under U.S. 75 by Eldorado Parkway or White Avenue. During the Wednesday night and Thursday night closures, drivers can cross under U.S. 75 by Park View Avenue or White Avenue.
As a reminder, this TxDOT construction project to widen U.S. 75 from the SRT to White Avenue in McKinney to four main lanes in each direction and three frontage road lanes in each direction will provide much needed extra capacity through McKinney. The project is anticipated to be complete in January 2016.
