VIRGINIA PARKWAY at U.S. 75
Various lanes closed from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday, August 8:
Various lanes, one lane at a time in one direction at a time, on Virginia Parkway underneath U.S. 75 will be closed from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday, for the hanging of new bridge beams. Significant delays are anticipated. Motorists are encouraged to seek alternate routes, if possible.
Full closure from 9 p.m. Thursday night to 6 a.m. Friday morning, August 9: Virginia Parkway underneath U.S. 75 will be completely closed in both directions from 9 pm Thursday night, August 8, to 6 a.m. Friday morning, August 9, as work there continues. Signs will be posted to detour westbound traffic by White Avenue and eastbound traffic by Park View Avenue. Drivers are encouraged to seek alternate routes, if possible. The entire intersection should be fully open again by 6 am on Friday morning.
As a reminder, this TxDOT construction project to widen U.S. 75 to four main lanes in each direction and three frontage road lanes in each direction will provide much needed extra capacity through McKinney. The project is anticipated to be complete in 2015.
