Michael O’Keefe of First Response Photography of McKinney captured this scene at the Freeway Ends sign on Hwy. 5 off 121 on Tuesday morning: A gas line explosion and fire has created a chaotic situation for drivers.

Cars were driving around in circles around 9 a.m. Tuesday. Shortly afterward, there was a power outage in the area and the highway was shut down by authorities.

Four utility workers were injured, according to The Associated Press, which spoke to Stacie Durham of the McKinney Fire Department. Several vehicles were damaged, as well.

ATMOS Energy crews were working in the area and lost large digging equipment and vehicles in the explosion and fire.

The fire was quickly contained by the McKinney Fire Department. TSB captured the tap out of the fire and damaged vehicles on video.
