Update: BB Gun is What Fired at Collin County Investigator’s Car in McKinney

An investigator’s unmarked Crown Victoria was shot by a BB gun on Wednesday near State Highway 5 in McKinney, the city told TSB.

The incident happened at 3199 N. McDonald, at Wilmeth, at 10:49 a.m. No person was shot, but the car window was shot at with a BB gun, which was determined from evidence found in the suspect vehicle, a silver Nissan Rogue (small SUV).

McKinney PD planned to arrest the shooter Thursday night.

An investigator with the Collin County district attorney’s office was driving north on Highway 5, McKinney Deputy Police Chief Joe Ellenburg told The Dallas Morning News, and as he turned left onto Wilmeth Road, his back window was shot, which left a hole. Ellenburg also said he didn’t believe the shooter knew that the Crown Victoria belonged to an investigator.
