Two MISD Girls Basketball Players Honored By Texas Girls Coaches Association

Basketball season may be officially over, but the awards are still coming in for several players around McKinney.

McKinney High’s Mariah Mitchell and North’s Alexis Mason were selected to the Texas Girls Coaches Association’s All State Teams. Mitchell was one of 40 players selected to the Class 5A team, while Mason made the list in Class 4A.

Mitchell led the Lionettes in scoring with 19.6 PPG and 6.3 RPG in guiding McKinney to the Bi-district round of the UIL playoffs. Mason led the Lady Bulldogs in scoring with 17 PPG while averaging nearly five assists per game, leading North to a 30-4 record and the Area round of the UIL playoffs.
