McKinney North volleyball standouts Courtney Kankel and Melissa Nichols will sign their letters of intent to play college volleyball Wednesday at McKinney North High School.
Head coach Shannon Alvarado said Sunday the signings will take place at the multi-purpose facility at 2:30 p.m.
Kankel (#3) who finished 2013 No. 12 in the Dallas Area-4A with 282 kills, will sign on to play college volleyball at Houston Baptist University. The Huskies so far in 2013 have compiled a 13-15 record, and an 8-7 record in its first year in the Southland Conference.
The Huskies won the Red River Athletic Conference Championship six-consecutive years from 1998 to 2003, and again in 2006.
Nichols (#6) will head toward the Rocky Mountains as she will sign with Colorado State University-Pueblo Wednesday. The Thunderwolves are 10-17 and 7-10 in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.
Nichols finished the season with 198 kills, 61 blocked shots and 33 digs, while helping lead North to its first Bi-District Championship since 2008.
The Lady Bulldogs were eliminated from UIL-4A playoffs in the Area Round in three sets against Waxahachie.
