At approximately 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 27, the McKinney Fire Department responded to a house fire in the 2800 block of Berry Hill. A total of 14 Fire Department units and 29 personnel responded.
No reported civilian or FD injuries.
“Two adults and two children were displaced,” said McKinney Fire Department Spokeswoman Stacie Durham. “American Red Cross was contacted to assist with family needs.”
The fire is believed to be cooking related.
“Cooking is the #1 cause of residential fires in the U.S.,” said Durham
Smoke alarms were present and working and alerted residents to the fire and it was reported under control approximately 20 minutes after FD arrival.
