Tucker Hill, a traditional neighborhood development located just north of Highway 380, is destined to become one of McKinney’s most patriotic communities! Residents are responding to the challenge of an old-fashioned porch decorating contest now through July 4th and are coming up with ideas that will be more than Pinterest-worthy.
With a $100 prize for first and a $50 prize for second, the judges for the community’s developer, Southern Land Company, will have to make some tough decisions. “It’s really fun to see how creative people can get and the porches that define our community really look festive with all the red, white and blue,” said Jamie Spence, resident activities director.
Tucker Hill encourages anyone who wants to enjoy the spirit of Independence Day to stop by the community and admire the décor. Darling Homes and David Weekley Homes also maintain model homes that are available for touring Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. and Sundays from noon until 6 p.m. Darling Homes will be open on July 4th from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m.
