On Feb. 2, the UIL announced that McKinney High and McKinney Boyd will be rivals again in District 10-5A from 2012-14.
MHS and Boyd joined Allen, Plano, Plano West, and Plano East- the four largest high schools in the state of Texas, according to figures provided by the athletic association. This also is arguably one of the toughest football districts in the state.
On Feb. 20, Boyd and MHS were denied an appeal for realignment, according to MISD superintendent Shaun Pratt. Both schools had been asked to move into District 11-5A with five Garland schools.
