TSB’s Top Sports Stories of 2012: Boyd Softball Wins First District Championship (No. 6)

By Mike Bruu, TSB Sports Editor

Heading into the 2012 season, the Lady Bronco softball team had high expectations of winning their first district title in program history. After a perfect 14-0 record in the old District 10-5A, compiled of all Garland schools, Boyd won its first title and would go on to be one of two McKinney schools in the UIL softball playoffs.

Boyd would advance to the regional quarterfinals before losing to Temple 7-2 in a one-game playoff.
