TSB’s Top News Stories of 2012: McKinney’s Original High School Opens Spiffy, Rerfurbished Digs (No. 6)

By TSB Staff

On Aug. 16, McKinney High staff began to move into its permanent digs on the MHS campus after spending the summer in temporary housing at McKinney Boyd. That’s because the entire MHS building underwent reconstruction, beginning in March, with plans to finish by December, 2013.

After six months of construction, several new advances were made to MHS before the 2012-13 school year began Aug. 27, including expanded parking lots, a new main entrance, brand new classrooms in upstairs and downstairs E hall, flex areas (community learning areas), new teacher workrooms, and new floors and freshly-painted walls in the main gym.

Phase two construction has been slated to begin in January of 2013.
