“This is wonderful, this is terrific, this is so great!” were phrases that could be heard repeatedly one evening in late March at the official opening of McKinney’s dog park. McKinney’s four-legged residents barked their obvious approval.
Despite what felt like a return to winter weather, numerous McKinney residents and their furry friends came out to check out the new park, which is located at 3050 Virginia Parkway, at the northeast corner of Hardin Boulevard and Virginia.
Mayor Brian Loughmiller, Mayor Pro-Tem Travis Ussery and Councilmembers Ray Ricchi and Roger Harris were on hand to help celebrate the park opening and visit with residents.
Loughmiller thanked everyone for coming out to the opening ceremony and said “the turnout was even better than he expected.”
Councilman Ricchi said, “This (the park) is fantastic.”
