This week’s DIY entry …
DIY Carpet Stain Remover
You know those horrible stains you get on the carpet? The ones usually from Kool-Aid or other drinks? For those of you with kids, this might be more helpful than you think. Get rid of that awful stain with a few simple items that you can find around the house; Water and ammonia or Windex White towel Iron.
Step one: Combine equal parts ammonia and water, or use Windex. For Windex, use clear or yellow solution.
Step two: Heat up the iron to the hottest cotton setting.
Step three: Soak the stain with your solution. You can work in small sections if the stain is too big.
Step four: Place a white towel on the section you are cleaning. Do NOT use a colored towel because the color may transfer to the carpet.
Step five: Iron over the towel in 10-second increments. It may take a few tries, but the spot will be soaked into the towel within minutes. If you don’t see the desired effects after the first three applications of the iron, soak the spot and try again. If it isn’t wet enough, the solution will not come up. A sizzling noise is completely normal when the spot is saturated.
