Advent Activity Day 6: Perform a “Nicholas Deed”
Today is St. Nicholas Day. St. Nicholas, aka Santa Claus, was a third century Greek bishop whose generous spirit toward the needy and children, is still remembered and emulated. Today, surprise someone with an anonymous gift. Sign the card, “From a Friend”. Or, perform a random act of kindness, then treat yourself and the kids to a candy cane, the symbol for the shepherd’s crook, or crozier, carried by St. Nicholas as he went about doing his good deeds.
