Advent Activity Day 15: Take a Christmas Light Drive Through Your Neighborhood
Here’s to you, Edward H. Johnson, Father of the Electric Christmas Tree Lights. After you blinged-up your Christmas tree on December 22, 1882 with hand-wired red, white and blue light bulbs, the country soon followed. We can’t help but wonder what you’d think if you could see how your idea illuminates today’s holiday season. Who knew that your light-bulb-moment would turn out to be such a, well, light-bulb-moment? On behalf of grateful Christmas light fans everywhere, thank you Mr. Johnson.
