The early voting total of 6,662 in the TRE election is more than twice the total voter turnout of 2,820 for the McKinney City Council election in May. It appears, based upon the early voting numbers, that the TRE vote total will be massive.
For comparison, 1,901 people voted early in the McKinney City Council election in May. On Tuesday alone, the final day of early voting in the TRE election, 1,734 people voted, nearly equaling the total number of early votes in the city council election.
If the TRE election is passed, McKinney’s residents will see an annual property taxes increase by an average of $268.59 in order to increase funding to McKinney ISD.
