The North Texas Tollway Authority will open two new tolled ramps June 14 at the Sam Rayburn Tollway/Dallas North Tollway interchange, improving traffic flow through the busy area.
The NTTA will open a new southbound DNT exit ramp to Legacy Drive, which will mean an easier commute for southbound motorists trying to reach the business parks and shopping areas from Legacy Drive.
In addition, crews will open a new northbound DNT entrance ramp at Headquarters Drive, giving motorists direct access to the tollway from the businesses in the area.
Tolls on both new ramps for a passenger car with two axles will be 22 cents for TollTag customers and 44 cents for ZipCash customers until the toll rate increase on July 1, when the rates will go to 23 and 45 cents, respectively. Toll rates are higher for vehicles with additional axles. Rates are available online at www.ntta.org/AboutUs/TollRates/. Motorists are encouraged to get a TollTag because ZipCash rates are 50 percent higher.
The new ramps were constructed as part of the ongoing SRT/DNT interchange project, in which crews are adding eight direct-connecting bridges to join the SRT with the DNT to efficiently move traffic through what has been a highly congested area. The five-level interchange is expected to be ready for traffic in January 2012.
