Third-Degree Felony Arrest Made After Car Hits Pedestrian in McKinney, TX

On Saturday night McKinney First Responders arrived on scene to an auto vs. pedestrian accident in the 1000 block of South McDonald near Jefferson Street involving serious injuries. The pedestrian was transported in serious condition via helicopter. “I have not been made aware of any change in condition,” said McKinney Assistant Chief of Police Randy Roland Monday evening.

Ivan Gonzalez Ruiz, 46, was arrested in relation to the accident on early Sunday morning with a third-degree felony charge for an accident involving personal injury or death. Ruiz’s bond has been set at $250,000.

“Battalion 1, EMS 1, Engine 4, Truck 1, Med 2, Collin County AMR and numerous Police units worked the scene and established a Landing Zone for PHI Air Med 2,” said First Response Photography’s Michael O’Keefe in a Facebook post.
