Texas Instruments Recognizes McKinney’s Weinberger for Community Service Work

By Matthew Bado, TSB Staff

Texas Instruments (TI) named McKinney’s Charles “Chas” Weinberger a winner of its fourth annual TI Founders Community Service Awards. Weinberger is one of only twelve winners recognized for their exceptional community service efforts worldwide. TI will donate $1,000 to a nonprofit agency Weinberger served.

“I’ve had good support from my coworkers who, month after month and year after year, dedicate their time and energy to these good causes,” Weinberger told  “I’m gratified that this award means that The Salvation Army will get a $1000 donation from TI.”

Nominations were judged on several criteria, including the impact the volunteer work had on the community and the leadership that the individual or team exhibited. An independent panel of judges named these individuals and teams as 2013 winners.

Spouse Lynn Weinberger said:

“He’s a hard worker and has gone above and beyond with years of volunteering, both in McKinney and Dallas, beginning when our boys were young and into Scouting, amateur radio, marching band and robotics. His boss nominated him – it was a wonderful surprise to learn he’d won.”
