‘Stuart J’s Lens’ Tours the Man Cave With Joe Tempesta

By Stuart J. Pearlman, TSB Staff

Melissa resident Joe Tempesta started a small firearms business, Tempesta Arms & Tactical, a few years ago simply catering to local and Internet traffic. Last fall, Tempesta took the next step and joined the exclusive group of retailers in historic downtown McKinney by opening the Man Cave.

According to Wikipedia: A man cave, sometimes a mantuary or manspace, is a male sanctuary, such as a specially equipped garage, spare bedroom, media room, den, or basement. It is not a cave but rather a metaphor describing a room inside the house, such as the basement or garage or attic or office, or outside the house such as a wood shed or tool room, where “guys can do as they please” without fear of upsetting any female sensibility about house decor or design.

Think again Wikipedia….

This Man Cave sells weaponry and Tempesta states its business model “is historic to fit the square.” They specialize in North American hunting and safari-grade arms and women are some of his best customers.

“They want to know what the Man Cave is,” he said. “They find some classic piece their husband doesn’t have in his collection.” But due to recent events, “more women are buying small concealed-carry revolvers” for their own use.
