Stonebridge United Methodist Car Show Raises $10,000 for Samaratin Inn

McKinney, Texas (May 18, 2015) The Stonebridge United Methodist Church men’s group hosted a car show over the weekend that benefited The Samaritan Inn. Thanks to the sponsors and attendees, a $10,000 donation will be made to Collin County’s only homeless shelter.

“We are thrilled to be the beneficiary of this past weekend’s car show and we are so grateful for the men of Stonebridge UMC. All proceeds will be used for our new state of the art family shelter. The ground breaking for the shelter will be this fall, and when it opens, one hundred homeless families will have a place to stay and a program that leads to independence,“ said Samaritan Inn Executive Director Lynne Sipiora.

“I want to thank all of our sponsors and the community for supporting our event this past weekend. The show was a lot of fun, there were some great cars, but more importantly, we were able to raise over $10,000 for the Samaritan Inn,” said Stonebridge UMC car show coordinator Todd Adkins, “we had a great turnout for the show, especially considering we had to postpone the event for a week and we battled a less than ideal forecast on Saturday. We hope everyone enjoyed the show and we look forward to raising even more money next year.”
