Stepping Stones Church of McKinney is holding a Candy Through the Bible Trunk or Treat on the evening of October 31 from 6:00 – 8:00 at its new facility at 2001 Central Circle Drive, across from the Wal-Mart on Redbud Drive in North McKinney. Following a Candy Land Theme, children will receive Milky Ways at the Creation trunk, Animal Crackers at Noah’s Ark Trunk, Starburst at the Nativity Trunk and the list goes on with different Biblical events represented by LifeSavers, Caramels, Jawbreakers, Snickers and more. There will also be a hayride, bounce house, cakewalk, face painting, hot dogs and popcorn. The entire community is invited to attend this free event.
Stepping Stones is a brand new church in McKinney having held its Launching Service September 15. It spent time building its core base of members allowing it to launch with a full slate of leaders and programs. The dedicated members of the newly forming church spent this summer renovating 5000 square feet of office and warehouse space next door to Cookies In Bloom in the northeast quadrant of Highway 75 and University Drive (Hwy 380). The front office space was transformed into Faith Factory for children and the youth took over the largest office for their Club 252.
Pastor Jeff Nyberg has overseen the planting of 29 churches. “I want everything our church does to point people to the Bible. The leadership team has had fun connecting Bible stories to candy such as Kit Kats for Daniel in the Lions Den and Bugles for Joshua and the Wall of Jericho. They haven’t quiet decided how they will incorporate Reese Peanut Butter Cups.”
Sunday’s mornings at 9:15 Stepping Stones offers Life Groups for every age group from children, youth, college and career to adults. The worship service follows at 10:30 AM. For more information call the church at 972-548-1300 or visit their website at www.steppingstoneschurch.org.
