Former NFL Player and businessman Scott Turner today publicly released endorsements from key statewide conservative leaders Kelly Shackelford, President and CEO of Liberty Institute; Cathie Adams, former Republican Party of Texas (RPT) Chair and Texas Eagle Forum President; and David Barton, former vice-chairman of the Republican Party of Texas and President of Wall Builders.
In endorsing Turner, Kelly Shackelford stated, “Today, more than ever, we need leaders who will boldly defend our free market principles and our traditional values of faith and family. That’s why I’m pleased to endorse Scott Turner. We can count on him to be a dynamic, effective spokesman for the conservative agenda. The voters of Rockwall and Collin counties will be well-served with Scott Turner as their State Representative.”
Former RPT Chair Cathie Adams said, “I am so pleased to be able to offer my endorsement of Scott Turner. Candidates like Scott don’t come around too often. He loves his God, his family, his state and his nation. Scott Turner can accomplish great things not only for Collin and Rockwall Counties but for the entire state of Texas. Let’s don’t miss the opportunity to have this man of vision, character, and conservative convictions fighting for us in Austin. I heartily support Scott Turner, and urge my friends to do the same.”
David Barton said, “In Scott Turner, voters have a man of unquestioned integrity. He’s a man of faith who will not waver in his defense of our deeply held conservative and constitutional values. Scott Turner is a breath of fresh air who’ll bring honor to the political process. I’m proud to endorse his candidacy and strongly recommend him to the voters of Collin and Rockwall counties.”
Today’s announcement adds to a growing list of endorsements for Turner including those from former Congressman J.C. Watts and motivational speaker Zig Ziglar. Earlier this week, Turner was endorsed by the Young Conservatives of Texas.
