State Representative Jeff Leach was elected Wednesday to serve on the Texas House Republican Caucus Policy Committee. The Policy Committee is made up of 16 House Members, comprised of two elected members from six geographic regions across the state and four at-large members appointed by Caucus Chairman Brandon Creighton (R-Conroe). Representative Leach was elected by fellow colleagues in the “North” region, comprised of 25 Members from Collin, Dallas, Denton, Rockwall, and Tarrant Counties.
Chaired by Representative Tim Kleinschmidt (R-Lexington), the House Republican Caucus Policy Committee meets daily throughout the legislative session to review the House Calendar and analyze legislation to report policy recommendations to the entire House Republican Caucus.
“Serving on the House Republican Caucus Policy Committee is a tremendous honor and I look forward to working alongside my Republican colleagues across the state in our effort to promote a common-sense, conservative agenda for the 83rd Legislative Session,” stated Leach. “I am thankful for the trust my colleagues have placed in me to serve in this capacity, and I look forward promoting policies that reflect our Texas values and principles.”
In addition to serving on the House Republican Caucus Policy Committee, Representative Leach serves on the House Committee on Criminal Jurisprudence, the House Committee on Urban Affairs, and the House Committee on Rules and Resolutions. Leach represents portions of Plano, Allen, Richardson and Dallas in Collin County.
