Local baseball and softball teams were in action Friday night. The results follow:
McKinney North 15, Wylie East 7: The Lady Bulldogs won big Friday night. North improved to 4-2 in District 13-4A while Wylie East fell to 2-3.
McKinney North 1, Greenville 0: The Bulldogs pitched a shutout Friday night at home. Luke Bay was the winning pitcher for North. Travis Scalf added a double at the plate. North is 4-1 in District 13-4A while Greenville felt to 1-4.
Plano High 8, McKinney Boyd 2: The Broncos lost on the road Friday despite Paxton Larson’s effort. Mitchell Hansen recorded the win for Plano, allowing two runs over five innings. Hansen struck out six, walked two and surrendered four hits. Plano’s Cody Farhat, Brett Hudspeth and Ryan Robertson combined for three hits and two RBIs. Brock Nelson was the game’s losing pitcher. He lasted just three innings, walked four, struck out four, and allowed three runs. Plano didn’t relinquish the lead after scoring four runs in the fourth inning. Plano added three more runs in the bottom of the fifth.
Plano East 3, McKinney High 2: The Lions lost a close one at Al Alford Stadium on Friday. Brett Gannaway took the loss on the mound although he pitched well. Dillan Saporito doubled for MHS. The Lions fell to 0-4 in District 10-5A while Plano East improved to 3-1.
