Meet Gus, a good-looking guy with large, expressive eyes that are sure to melt your heart. He is a 4-year-old, 24-pound, brown Dachshund mix. He was surrendered to the SPCA of Texas on November 6 because his owner had health issues and could not keep him. However, his previous owner wanted to let you know that he is a sweet and lovable guy. Gus has been a little bit shy while in the shelter, though. He’s just not used to being in this type of environment, and longs to be in a home again. While he is more of a couch potato type of fellow, he does enjoy playing with toys and playing fetch. He already knows a few commands, including “sit”, “stay” and “come”. Because Gus is a fan of treats, we bet he can learn more with your encouragement – and lots of treats! Gus would prefer to be the only dog in your home. What can he say, he just loves having all of the attention to himself! He will do best in a home without children – being a small fellow, they make him nervous. Gus loves going for walks and is good on the leash. He is also a fan of car rides, so if you are looking for a travel buddy, he’s your guy! He is crate-trained and housebroken, but might need a little refresher after being in the shelter. Gus have been neutered, microchipped and have received all of his age-appropriate vaccinations. We hope you stop by and see him soon. He’s looking forward to having his own family again, and he hopes that’s with you! Love, Gus. #143875
Meet Charlie, a lovely, golden-aged 10-year-old lady. Her breed is Russian Blue mix and she weighs 10 pounds. She was surrendered to the SPCA of Texas on October 19 because her elderly owner passed away. She misses her very much, so at first, she may be a bit shy. Each day, she is adjusting to new people and making friends! Charlie is looking for a mellow, quiet home to enjoy her retirement years. Could that be with you? Charlie has been spayed, tested for FIV/FeLV (she’s negative), microchipped and has received age-appropriate vaccinations. It will be best for her to go to a home without small children. Charlie likes soft petting on her head and back, and will be a sweet, lovable friend and companion for her new human. Come meet her today, and see what a precious girl she is. #143316
