SPCA Pets of the Week: Beauty, Brains and Personality

spca_keikeiMeet Keiki, a friendly 5-year-old, 50 pound Pit Bull mix.  She has a gorgeous white and brown brindle coat and always seems to have a smile on her face. She loves to take walks and explore the great outdoors. She is a sweetheart who enjoys getting her head scratched and her belly rubbed! Keiki was surrendered to the SPCA of Texas onAugust 22 because her previous owner was moving and could not take her along.  According to her previous owner, she OK with children and cats. She can be a little particular about her canine friends, so if you have a dog and are considering adopting her, Keiki would love to meet them first!  Did you know that you can bring your current, vaccinated dogs to the shelter to meet potential pets like her?  Besides her stunning good looks, Keiki is also one smart cookie! In her previous home, Keiki was housetrained and crate trained.  After living in the shelter, it may take her a couple of weeks to remember all of the housetraining and crate training in her new adoptive home. She has been spayed, heartworm tested (she is negative), micro-chipped, and received her age-appropriate vaccinations.   Would Keiki be the perfect addition to your family? spca_cocMeet Coco, a beautiful four-year-old, 6 pound, Domestic Short Hair mix. She is a brown tabby with black stripes and beautiful green eyes.   She is friendly, calm and just a sweetheart that loves to cuddle with you.   Coco was surrendered to the SPCA of Texas on August 13th because her previous owner was having problems with allergies.  She previously lived with children and dogs.  Coco also happens to be a pretty smart girl. She will come when you call her name and will also lay down when she is told to. According to her previous owner, Coco’s favorite trick is if you pat your chest, she will jump into your arms! She is somewhat of a couch potato but she does like to get in some play time.  She has been spayed, FIV/FeLV tested (She is negative), micro-chipped, received her age-appropriate vaccinations, and is litter box trained!  Coco is also a V.I.P. (Very Important Pet) because she has been waiting for her new, loving family for more than 30 days, and she has a special lower adoption price! Keiki and Coco are waiting for you at the SPCA of Texas’ Russell H. Perry Animal Care Center in McKinney at 8411 Stacy Road. Hours are noon to 6 p.m. seven days a week. Regular adoption fees are $95-125 for puppies 0-6 months, $75-95 for adult dogs 6 months or older, $50 for senior dogs 7 years or older, $50 for VIP dogs, $95 for kittens, $75 for adult cats, $50 for senior cats 7 years and older and $50 for VIP cats. Fee includes spay/neuter surgery, age-appropriate vaccinations, a heartworm test for dogs six months and older, initial heartworm preventative for dogs, a feline leukemia test for cats four months and older, a microchip, a rabies tag and a free leash or cat carrier.
